Quick piece, for a warm-up!

Oh Hello

Pixar and Doctor Who are two of my favorite things, so I found a way to cross them over.

To be honest, this was originally just going to be a quick doodle-- I just got a little carried away. To my complete surprise, Tumblr took a great liking to this. More than 22,000 notes in just days. I am shocked, but so wonderfully excited. Until Friday morning, I had never REALLY realized just how much exposure the internet can provide an artist--even if it's just stupid things like this was supposed to be. Needless to say, this post has taught me a few things :)

Fall is Coming

Sometimes I try my hand at animating in Photoshop CS5. It's only a short GIF, but I had a lot of fun with it :) 

In other news, it's officially fall. Time to start drinking warm drinks and pulling out the coats that have been put away all summer. Spices and pumpkin pies <3 Fall is a wonderful time of year!

I decided to try water-coloring in my moleskin the other day, and I found that it didn't warp as much as I expected :D

Portfolio Interview

I had an interview with a professor from SCAD on my portfolio this weekend. It was encouraging and quite helpful, as well! Because of that wonderful review, I have become much more excited about my portfolio :) Hopefully I'll take my first drawing trip to the zoo in the next week or two; I need to begin to learn to work bigger and use more texture.

And because I feel this little update is too small and uninteresting, here are some sketches:

Digital Paintings from Sept. 2nd

For the last couple of weeks, I've found myself in a fairly large artistic rut. Tonight I finally managed to pull out of it a little.

OWLS. Because these little creatures are too much fun to draw.

This is an accidentally dyed paper towel, which I decided to sketch a girl's profile on.

On the next sketch, I was aiming to get as much fluid movement as I could out of the pose.

And lastly, a sharpie polar bear. I draw too many bears!

Doodle TIME

I kind of lost all of my inspiration recently...so in my effort to retrieve it, I did some thumbnails in some strange color combos, since I normally use 'real' colors.

I figure skate, so a little homage to my favorite sport!
